This program was first developed around 1992 for DOS based systems and was upgraded each year since 1997 when the first Windows version was created. It was the base program for a completely revamped Permit Program for the Department of Energy and is currently in use at Los Alamos National Labs. RWP allows for multiple security levels to allow different groups the capability to request and view RWPs, Radiation Protection personnel to enter survey and control data, Radiation Protection supervisors to make changes to the RWPs, and Administrators to control the passwords of the system and have access to all functions. Data on an RWP is collected on 12 forms within the same record. The forms are established as follows:
All forms have simple radio controls or input boxes and with the pre-job survey done an RWP could be created and printed in approximately 15 minutes. RWP provides a simple check list capability for creation of Radiation Work Permits. Reports can report on the status of RWP preparation, work progress,listings of RWPs and work locations, requests by group, active RWPs by date, and more. Like all RAD-Ware products, we fully support RWP to ensure everyone gets the most benefit from the program. The program is operated on a IBM compatible personal computer in Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, or Windows NT. The program itself will operate fine on Windows 2000 and Windows XP, however, due to changes in the Help system for these operating systems, the Help file provided with RWP will only work if accessed from the file (not from the program).
